How the donation platform works

One platform · every branch keeps its own money

The money never funnels through anyone

Counter sign QR scan or NFC tap Branch page its own look & amounts Branch's own PayFast account secure hosted checkout Branch bank account Watkey Street Each sign is uniquely coded: sign → its centre, every time
  1. Scan or tap. A customer sees the counter sign at a business and scans the QR code or taps their phone (NFC). No app, no account.
  2. The branch's own page opens — its photo, its preset amounts, its name. Nothing generic.
  3. Pay on the secure hosted checkout (PayFast in the live system — card, instant EFT, SnapScan and more, at reduced charity rates). Card data never touches our platform.
  4. The money settles straight into that branch's own bank account. Not through VDL, not through any office — each branch keeps its own money, like it already does.

Built-in trust

  1. Tags are locked read-only when a sign is deployed — a tag at a public counter cannot be rewritten to point somewhere else.
  2. Every sign is uniquely coded — the stats page shows which businesses and signs actually perform.
  3. No donor data is stored in this phase; tax certificates (Section 18A) are issued manually by the branch, using only the email the donor volunteers.
  4. Adding a branch is routine: its own payment account, one configuration, signs from a ready-made kit — a repeatable operation, not a new project.

Walk the demo

  1. Watkey Street donation page — what a donor sees after scanning (then donate with the demo test card).
  2. A second centre — same platform, different centre, different account.
  3. The branch stats page — what the branch sees (sample data).
